# Install

One command downloads the latest release for your machine, checks it against
the release's SHA256SUMS, and registers borer with every MCP client it finds.

macOS and Linux:

curl -fsSL https://borer.lol/install | sh
```

Windows (PowerShell):

irm https://borer.lol/install.ps1 | iex
```

`setup` finds Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, Gemini
CLI, Codex CLI and Zed. It backs up each file it edits to `<file>.bak`.

As a Claude Code plugin, which fetches the binary on its first session:

Or by hand: download an archive from the
[latest release](https://github.com/imjustprism/borer/releases/latest)
(Windows x64, Linux x64, macOS), then:

From source, with the toolchain that `rust-toolchain.toml` pins:
